Ottawa, ON — July 8, 2026 — The Rogers Centre Ottawa today announced the upcoming retirement of Dan Young, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, after an extraordinary 24-year career with the organization. Dan will officially depart the centre in early November.
For over more than two decades, Dan has been a driving force behind the growth, stability, and transformation of the Rogers Centre Ottawa. A respected and trusted leader, he played a pivotal role in the redevelopment of the facility and was part of the team that led its successful opening, helping position it as the world-class destination it is today.
Throughout his tenure, Dan provided steady, thoughtful leadership during periods of significant change and expansion. He has been instrumental in negotiating key agreements, strengthening the Centre’s relationships with stakeholders, and building a foundation of trust that continues to support the organization’s success. His leadership has also contributed to increased profitability and long-term financial sustainability for the Rogers Centre Ottawa.
Dan’s strategic foresight was evident in his development of a long-term capital asset plan to ensure the facility’s continued success and competitiveness. He also played an important role in shaping a workplace culture focused on excellence, collaboration, and customer satisfaction, helping drive customer experience scores to new heights.
As part of the leadership team, Dan contributed to the Centre earning global recognition, being named the World’s Best Convention Centre in 2020, based on customer feedback surveys, a testament to the organization’s commitment to providing extraordinary service.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dan is widely recognized for his collaborative approach, his openness and dedication to sharing knowledge and strengthening teams across the organization. He is an active member of the broader business community and currently serves on the board of Financial Executives International – National Capital Region, further demonstrating his commitment to leadership and service.
As he looks ahead to retirement, Dan is eager to spend time with his wife, family, and friends, and to enjoy a well-earned new chapter.
